Day 1: From Kigali you will transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Upon your arrival in Rwanda for your gorilla safari, you will be picked from Kigali International Airport by our company safari guide. He will drive around Kigali for an awesome city tour. During the city excursion, you will visit the Genocide Memorial Centre, the Presidential Palace and the Craft Market among others. You will have lunch and later on drive to Volcanoes national park which will take like about 2 hours, check in at the lodge where you will have dinner and overnight. Volcanoes National park is found in the northwestern side of Rwanda.
Being a home of mountain gorillas in Rwanda, the park is well known for its gorilla tracking safaris almost daily throughout the year. It is also home to five of the eight volcanoes of the Virunga Mountains (Karisimbi, Bisoke, Muhabura, Gahinga and Sabyinyo), which are covered in rain forest and bamboo. Within this park, it is where you can do golden monkey tracking and Dianne Fossey as well. Any of these two activities or both is commonly done after a gorilla safari. Take your overnight stay plus meals at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge or Lapalme Hotel.
Day 2: Enjoy Gorilla Tracking Adventure
Wake up early morning, prepare yourself and have breakfast. Then, leave for the park headquarters for a briefing and later begin the gorilla trek with the guidance of the park rangers and guides. The gorilla trekking adventure may last between 2-8 hours depending on the gorillas’ movements. You will stay with the gorillas for a maximum of one hour, which is usually worth it. Satisfied with the sighting and observation of the mountain gorillas in Rwanda, move back to the lodge where a wonderful lunch will be ready for you. Dinner and overnight stay at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge or Lapalme Hotel.
Day 3: Transfer to Kigali – Departure
After breakfast you will drive from Volcanoes National Park which takes about 2 hours. Have lunch in Kigali upon arrival. Later you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight.
