Full Itinerary for a Gorilla Tracking Safari in Rwanda.
Day 1: Arrive in Kigali, make a city tour & transfer to the Volcanoes National park
Out driver guide will meet at you at a hotel in Kigali or at the airport. You will then head for a city tour and you will visit the Genocide Memorial Centre, have lunch and later drive northwards to Volcanoes national park in Ruhengeri. At this park reside the lovely Mountain Gorillas. Enjoy a fantastic dinner and stay overnight at the Mountain Gorilla View Lodge, La Palme Hotel or Muhabura Hotel, on full board.
Day 2: Do a Gorilla Trekking Safari Adventure
This is the day for the long awaited gorilla tracking venture. Gather at the park head office for a comprehensive briefing in the morning. Equipped with trekking gears and drinking water and ascend in the forest to track the gorillas. Upon seeing the mountain gorillas you will be in their presence for one hour, as you take pictures and look at them from a closer range. When done with gorilla tracking, go back to the lodge; take a pleasant lunch followed by a restful evening. Have dinner and night stay at your Lodge.
Day 3: Enjoy Golden Monkey Tracking or Dian Fossey Hike and drive to Kigali
A 3 day Gorilla Tour in Rwanda is concluded with any of the two activities above. In the morning, you will either go for golden monkey tracking or do a hiking to Dian Fossey Karisoke grave. Upon return, you will take a warm lunch and then after begin your two and half hours’ drive back to Kigali and arrive there in the afternoon. You will, either be dropped to the airport in case of a pending evening flight or to the lodge. End of the wonderful gorilla safari in Rwanda.
