Full Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali Rwanda.
When you arrive at Kanombe International Airport in Kigali, our driver will be on standby to receive you and transfer you to your accommodation in Kigali. Take dinner and overnight at Lemigo Hotel, Hotel Gorillas or Serena Hotel in Kigali.
Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
Have breakfast at the hotel and proceed to Nyungwe National Park. Enroute visit to Rwanda National Museum in Butare, Murambi genocide memorial site, have lunch in Butare and proceed with the journey. Arrive in Nyungwe forest in the evening and take dinner and overnight stay at Nyungwe Forest Lodge or Gisakura Guest House
Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking and Canopy walk
Have breakfast go into the forest in search chimps with a chance of spoting 13 other primates species and more than 300 bird species, which makes it a bird watcher’s delight! There are massive concentrations of habituated Chimpanzees whose troops can include 400 to 500 individuals! Come back to your lodge for lunch, rest a bit and then go for a canopy hike or cultural walk in the midst of the local communities where you will be entertained with traditional dance and drummer, and get to be acquainted more about the local ways of life. Dinner and overnight stay at Nyungwe Forest Lodge or Gisakura Guest House
Day 4: Transfer from Nyungwe Forest to Volcanoes National Park
Take morning breakfast and connect to Volcanoes National Park. This is a long day drive to northern Rwanda and to the foothills of the volcanoes National Park. Overnight at the Gorillas Nest, Virunga Lodge “which is a high quality eco lodge with magnificent views over both the volcanoes and Lake Burera and Ruhondo. Other options are Kinigi Guest House or Sabinyo Silverback Lodge on full board.
Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda in Parc National Des Volcans
Have early breakfast and move to Kinigi station for a 30 minutes briefing about mountain gorilla tracking. Tracking Mountain Gorillas is very demanding and wearisome but meeting and keeping around these giant apes worth the effort, time and money. You will be permitted to stay with gorillas for 1 hour for watching and photographic taking. You can take a walk to Ruhengeri Market, providing you with an opportunity to see and buy local Rwandan fabrics, foods, arts and handicrafts. Or else drive to see the stunning twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. Dinner & overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge, Kinigi Guest House or Sabinyo Silverback Lodge on full board.
Day 6: Drive back to Kigali City Tour, departure
Wake up early, have breakfast at the lodge and start driving back to Kigali taking about 3 hours. On arrival in Kigali, take a city tour going to places like the Genocide Memorial Museum at Gisozi, local art and craft shops, local markets and do last minute Souvenir shopping. Basing on your programmed departure flight, you will be transferred to Kigali Airport.
